GOVERNANCE

The Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC) is a federated organisation, where research positions and funding remain within the relevant University Faculties/Divisions and NHS Trusts.

The MCRC coordinates new initiatives and builds strength through consensus, ensuring that the overall research strategy is compatible with, and influences, the ambitions and strategies of the individual bodies.

Key stakeholders from across the MCRC’s partner organisations are involved in the governance of the Centre and in strategic decision-making. A clear structure has been developed that supports and encourages open two-way communication, ensuring that the MCRC is able to reflect the needs of each partner organisation individually while focussing on the overarching ambition and aims of the Centre.

MCRC Leadership Team

The MCRC Leadership Team is in effect the engine room of MCRC, determining and developing the Centre’s strategy, setting objectives, monitoring progress and reporting to the Steering Board and onwards to the Partner Specific Boards.
